Former Wimbledon champ Pat Cash visited Queen’s Hospital this week to open its new state-of-the-art radiotherapy specific CT scanner. 

As a publicly funded NHS Trust, by law we must protect the public funds. This means, to help prevent and detect fraud, we may share information with other organisations which are responsible for auditing or administering public funds, or where undertaking a public function.

Philip Ludlow, the Minister of State for Health, paid a visit to Queen’s Hospital, where he praised our staff for their continuous hard work to improve services for our patients.

We held a range of activities this week to mark Sepsis Awareness Month.

On Wednesday (14 September) several staff across both our hospitals began their day by taking part in simulation training, using real-life scenarios to role-play the steps they should take to identify and treat sepsis.

When Irene Francois died at King George Hospital, her family were so grateful for the care she had received they asked for donations for Gardenia ward, rather than flowers, at her funeral.

Our visitors and staff at Queen’s Hospital now have lots more choice when choosing their meals, thanks to our colourful new food court. 

We’ve said farewell to two long-serving members of staff – one to spend more time with her neglected garden (and family), as the other returns home to the emerald isle.
