Our visitors and staff at Queen’s Hospital now have lots more choice when choosing their meals, thanks to our colourful new food court.

Our former restaurant has been transformed with Subway and Yardbird outlets, a hot kitchen, grab and go area and a bigger and better salad bar.

Retired rugby player Matt Dawson, Sodexo’s healthy eating ambassador, visited Queen’s Hospital yesterday (Wednesday) to officially open our new food court.

Matt, who enjoyed a short tour of our hospital before cutting the ribbon, said: “I’ve been to Romford a few times before and Queen’s Hospital has completely changed since I was last here two years ago to open Costa.

“I’m very proud to be part of this partnership. I’m sure it’s going to get even better so make sure you keep giving us your feedback.”

Sodexo, our partner organisation which runs the food court, listened to views of our staff and customers when designing it, introducing more fresh ingredients, high street brands and healthier options.

During his visit, Matt spent time talking to staff and visitors and even got behind the counter of the hot kitchen to give staff a hand. He also helped himself to a healthy salad.
