We have installed a new Brompton bike docking station at Queen’s Hospital to help support our staff with healthier and more sustainable ways of getting to and from work.

The fold-up bikes are part of a 12 month trial scheme which, if popular, could see a docking station installed at King George Hospital next year.

Chief Executive Matthew Trainer, pictured above with Jonny Darkes from Brompton Bicycles, said: “These new bikes are a fantastic way to travel and have benefits for the health of our staff as well as the environment.

“Sustainable travel options for staff, patients, and visitors are an important part of our Green Plan and will improve the air quality around our hospitals.”

As well as a possible extension of the scheme to King George Hospital, we are working with Brompton on installing an electric bike dock at Queen’s to provide an alternative option for staff who would like to cycle to work from further afield.
