We've appointed Fiona Wheeler as our new Chief Operating Officer

We are pleased to have appointed Fiona Wheeler as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO) following a competitive recruitment process. She has been leading our planned care recovery programme for the past year.
Fiona began working in healthcare at King’s College Hospital as a junior administrator. In the years since that Band 4 job, she has undertaken many operational leadership roles across the NHS and has delivered demonstrable improvements in clinical and operational services.
Reacting to her appointment, Fiona said: “I’ve really enjoyed working at the Trust and I’m delighted to become our Chief Operating Officer. I can’t wait for the next stage of my career where, with colleagues, I will focus on developing and improving services for the residents we serve.”
Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive, added: “Fiona has done an exceptional job helping to cut waiting lists, so it’s great she’s now our COO. For the first time in a while, all our senior leaders are substantive appointments and the stability this brings will benefit our patients and staff. I’m delighted Fiona has been appointed.”
