Well done to our Urogynaecology team which has been reaccredited by the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG).

Ours is the only unit in north east London and Essex to receive this accreditation, which recognises the care we provide meets national standards for quality and best practice.

The team looks after women with bladder or pelvic floor conditions such as incontinence, prolapse, urinary tract infections, and pelvic floor injury following childbirth.

To maintain our accreditation, representatives from BSUG reassess our unit every five years to ensure our services still meet the high standards required.

Our team celebrated their achievement with coffee and cake as well as a congratulatory visit from our Chief Executive, Matthew Trainer.

Roopa Nair, our Clinical Director for Women’s Health and urogynaecology lead, said: “I am so proud the team for gaining reaccreditation, this shows we are getting noticed at a regional level and is something we’ve worked really hard to achieve.

“Since our original accreditation in 2017 we have not only continued to maintain high standards, we’ve also introduced several new services including non-mesh laparoscopic continence surgery, nurse-led clinics, and percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) for patients with an overactive bladder.”
