Three of our wards have achieved silver in our ward accreditation programme. Congratulations to Beech ward at King George Hospital and Amber A and Amber B wards at Queen’s Hospital for achieving silver. 

Ward accreditation is part of our efforts to improve and standardise the quality of care given to patients at our hospitals.

Wards are assessed by corporate nurses and subject matter experts. They provide a report for the ward that tells them what they're doing well and how they can reach the next level.

This report covers patient experience, safety, how staff are feeling, how efficiently the ward runs, and how well they're doing on equality, diversity and inclusion.

Ward managers on each of the three wards praised how their staff are upholding a high standard of care for patients.

Jacquie Sechere, Ward Manager on Amber A, said:

There's been a massive improvement on this ward to ensure a high standard of care is delivered to all our patients. Everybody played an important and huge role in ensuring Amber A is to be this Amber A we are seeing today.

Harry Galsote, Ward Manager on Amber B, said:

The team has been working towards this kind of accreditation and we've been looking for this silver for quite some time. I am very proud of every single staff member that is working on Amber B.

Emma Samura, Ward Manager on Beech, said:

This award means a lot as it helps us know where we are and what we have done. Patients will have the confidence that we can look after them well.
