Final preparations are being made for the opening of a new health and wellbeing hub in Hornchurch as it gears up to welcome its first patients next week.

There was even more fun than usual happening across our children’s ward as we celebrated the national Play in Healthcare Week from Monday 14 to Friday 18 October.

Pauline Okhamesan, our Head of Midwifery and Lead Nurse for Women’s Health, has made a significant impact since joining us two years ago. She’s helped reduce health inequalities for women and their midwives, particularly for those from African and Caribbean backgrounds.

Staff held a surprise party at Queen’s Hospital on Friday 11 October to celebrate, ahead of their retirement on Thursday 31 October.

The Neonatal unit at Queen’s Hospital has been awarded UNICEF’s prestigious Baby Friendly accreditation.

Around 30 staff from a range of teams across our Trust, including Maternity, Finance and HR, have raised almost £10,000 for our charity by taking part in The Big Charity Mud Run.
