Dr Mandeep-Kaur Phull, Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care, contacted Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford earlier this year on behalf of the team of consultants on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to ask that the ICU nurses in leadership roles are honoured for the exceptional work they did during the pandemic.

During the presntation, Dr Phull said: ''This is just a small gesture to acknowledge the huge contribution the nurses made during the pandemic and we wanted to do something to show them how important they are to us and our patients.''

Matthew Trainer added: ‘’Our nurses have done some tremendous work under very difficult circumstances and for that we thank them.''
