New quality strategy
We’re pleased to launch our new five-year quality strategy that will shape how we improve our services for patients and their families.
The strategy provides a framework for us to maintain, build, and innovate to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective care, as well as exceptional patient experience.
It also follows the seven steps to delivering quality care outlined by the National Quality Board but has been modified to align to our own aims and objectives.
You can read the full strategy here [pdf] 1MB. Its launch precedes our implementation later this year of national patient safety initiatives including the Learn From Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) service and the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
Mamta Shetty Vaidya, our Chief Medical Officer, said: “We have a relentless focus on quality and this strategy will help us deliver high quality, safe, and effective care for our patients and improve their experiences in our hospitals.”
Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford added: “As part of this strategy, it’s key that we create a culture of continuous learning and improvement, in which all voices are heard.
“We’ll work with our colleagues and patients to do this and ensure we improve the quality of the services we provide.”
