Well done to Mandarin A ward at Queen’s Hospital for achieving silver in our ward accreditation programme.

Ward accreditation is part of our ongoing efforts to improve and standardise the quality of care given to patients at our hospitals.

Wards are assessed by corporate nurses and subject matter experts. They provide a report that tells the ward what they're doing well and what needs to be better to reach the next level.

The report covers things like patient experience, safety, how staff are feeling, how efficiently the ward runs and how well they are doing on equality, diversity and inclusion.

Ward Manager Evelyn Peralta said the team really appreciates the award.

Evelyn said:

I would like to thank my team, our nursing team, our therapies team, our medical team, I’m really proud of this achievement and hopefully next time we will do it again.

Our aim is to go for gold!
