Know where to get the care you need over the festive period

stay well

If you or someone in your family needs care over the festive period there are lots of options open to you – including GP appointments available on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Your local pharmacist can help with lots of common illnesses including coughs and colds and many pharmacies will be open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. You don’t need an appointment and will be able to get the care you need quickly.

If you need urgent medical advice you can call NHS 111, a free 24-hour helpline and you’ll be put through to medical professionals including GPs, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists. If you need to be seen, they can direct you to the best service. You can also book a same day, urgent appointment to see a doctor at a GP hub. Appointments are available every weeknight evening from 6.30pm to 10pm, and from 8am to 8pm on the weekends. Get an appointment by calling your own doctor during normal opening hours, or call 020 3770 1888 or NHS 111.
