King George MRU’s silver success
Well done to the Medical Receiving Unit (MRU) at King George Hospital for achieving silver in our ward accreditation programme.
Ward accreditation is part of our ongoing efforts to improve and standardise the quality of care given to patients at our hospitals and sees wards assessed by corporate nurses and subject matter experts.
They provide a report that tells the ward what they're doing well and what needs to be better to reach the next level.
This covers things like patient experience, safety, how staff are feeling, how efficiently the ward runs, and how well they're doing on equality, diversity and inclusion.
Deputy matron Elizabeth Obisean said:
We’re so excited. This is a team effort. It means a lot. We have worked so hard. And the team, every single member of MRU KGH, we’ve done so much and we are so excited to receive this award.

I’m sure echoing in the mind of everyone in MRU KGH, this is an encouragement. It shows that every effort we’re putting in to make our patients have a good experience and the best outcome in their care is actually showing.
