Don’t just take our word for it though – hear from some of our staff who love working here share their experiences in our latest video.
Many staff talk about our Trust being like one big family, including Acting Chief Pharmacist Yousaf, who’s worked here for more than 20 years.
Yousaf said:
The place is like a family and the reason I’ve stayed is because of the people. It’s the relationships you build up that are the best thing about working here.
We celebrate staff like Yousaf who’ve worked for us for 20, 30 and 40 years at our annual long service awards .
If you’re keen to develop your skills, then our apprenticeship and career hub could be just what you’re looking for. Whether you’re after an entry level position or have plenty of experience, our wide range of courses provides you with the stepping stone to the next level.
Baba joined us as a porter and used the apprenticeship options available to progress to his current role as a radiographer. He was one of dozens of apprentices invited to the Houses of Parliament to celebrate their achievements.
Baba said:
What an awesome Trust to work for! They always invest in people, and I am primary example of that.
Lots of our staff have found the flexibility we offer has really helped to balance work and home life. Our recent rota trial is just one of the ways we support our staff with flexible working, and we’ve recently launched our “Flex for Life” campaign highlighting 15 different ways you can work flexibly at BHRUT.
Alongside that flexibility, our approach to workplace adjustments for staff with disabilities and long-term conditions is highlighted as making a real difference.
Pharmacy Assistant Demi, who has two chronic illnesses, said:
It is quite honestly the best trust that I have worked for and the support the Trust has given me is just amazing.
To ensure we give our patients the best care, our executives are keen to hear from staff across the organisation. By joining us, you’ll be working for a Trust that gives staff at all levels the opportunity to do that through our Shadow Executive.
The scheme sees staff from the shop floor invited to meetings with our executives to discuss and influence the important decisions being made at the top of our organisation.
Allied Health Professional Education Lead John expressed how great it was participating in the Shadow Exec.
John said:
It really allowed me to develop my leadership and management skills and made me feel like I had an impact on what was being decided for the wider organisation.
And as well as our staff, we like to get involved in supporting our local community. Our Project SEARCH scheme is one of our innovative programmes, helping young adults with learning disability and/or autism into work. Health Secretary and MP for Ilford North Wes Streeting recognised it for “providing opportunities for people who might otherwise struggle to get their first foot on the ladder”.
Now you’ve heard from our staff about why they like working here, it’s time for you to find out for yourself!
