Debbie Wickens, Lead Nurse for Harm Free Care at our Trust, was shortlisted in NHS England’s photography competition, ‘Our NHS at 75’,  in partnership with Fujifilm.

Staff were invited to submit their photographs to share the lives and talent of NHS workers. The photo Debbie entered came under the ‘Our Care’ category, capturing care given to patients or colleagues.

Her photo shows a black and white image of her friend and district nurse, Liz, giving care to a patient, retired choir master, Bruce.

Debbie said: “My background is in community nursing. I always valued the connection with our patients and the privilege of stepping into their homes and lives. I’ve tried to capture that here.

“I wanted to show the privilege we have in nursing of stepping into our patient’s lives and caring for them.”
