A successful launch of our paediatrician's book today

Matthew and David

David Robinson and Matthew Hopkins

David Robinson, a  long-serving consultant paediatrician at our Trust, has published a book, Pediatric Forensic Evidence, and today the book launch took place in our Education Centre at Queen's Hospital.

His book was written to be a guide for fellow doctors, lawyers, social workers and other professionals involved in child protection cases, based upon his vast experience advising courts in over 400 cases. You can read more about the book here.

Today’s launch was hugely successful with a huge turnout coming along to support David and celebrate his achievement, with standing room only in fact.

We heard what David put into the book, a brief overview of what it covers and some wonderful comments from colleagues, friends and family. With his three sons all coming along to celebrate.

Our Chief Executive, Matthew Hopkins, said: “It is right that we take time to celebrate the really important things that we do at our Trust.  David has written a seminal book that will benefit clinicians for generations to come.”

This recently published book helps to develop the academic learning culture within our Trust and will enhance the knowledge of colleagues, enabling us to improve patient care.

David himself wrote in the book: “Our task is to learn, acknowledge our errors and do better on behalf of the children and families under our joint care.”
