20,000th person receives the vaccine at our hubs!
Today (2 March) we reached yet another remarkable milestone in our vaccination efforts, as the 20,000th person to visit our hubs received the jab.
Homagni Sikha Roy, who works as a clinical fellow in renal medicine at Queen’s Hospital grabbed her jab this morning at the Queen’s vaccination hub.
She received a complimentary box of chocolates, as did our staff nurse, Donna Bland who gave her the vaccine.
Homagni, 35, said: “It was great to receive the 20,000th jab, the whole process was very smooth, from checking in to receiving the vaccine.
“It felt really safe, the staff asked lots of questions to make sure they didn’t miss anything.
“I think everyone should get the jab, it protects us and others around us.”
Donna, who has worked as a vaccinator at the hub since the first week it opened, added: “It was fantastic to give out the 20,000th jab, such a huge achievement to everyone involved.
“It’s been really amazing and encouraging to see the amount of the people getting the vaccine.”
