Stakeholder update from Chief Executive Matthew Trainer: 24 October 2022

I’m delighted to start this update by announcing the appointment of Janine La Rosa as our new Chief People Officer.

Janine is joining us next month from NHS London, where she is the Strategic Head of Equality and Inclusion. Before working in the NHS, Janine was the Diversity Lead for Sky where she was responsible for ensuring the broadcast company represented the UK.

I’m very excited to welcome someone of Janine’s calibre on our Board. She has a fantastic range of skills and considerable experience, from the public and the private sector, of delivering improvements to the culture of an organisation.

New clinic launched at Queen’s Hospital

Last week I joined the launch of a Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Simulation (PTNS) clinic, which is for our patients who suffer with overactive bladders.

Situated in our Urogynaecology clinic at Queen’s Hospital, it was positive to see patients using the service on launch day because it will make a genuine difference to people’s lives.

We’re always looking at innovative ways to provide the best care to our residents and over the next year, we plan to run 300 sessions in the clinic, improving the lives of around 25 patients.

Find out about the proposed Barking Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC)

As part of a north east London (NEL) wide consultation to improve diagnostic capacity, a dedicated CDC has been proposed at Barking Community Hospital (BCH), for a range of tests and scans such as CT and MRI scans, ultrasounds and blood tests.

We’ve engaged with residents and stakeholders to help us understand what is important to them when accessing these services to improve their experience, and before we submit our planning application, we’re holding public drop-in sessions to ensure those who live close to the site can see the proposals and provide their feedback.

Join us in person (Wednesday 26 October, 2-5pm) or virtually (Thursday 27 October, 6-7pm). More details are on our website.

Best wishes.
