Stakeholder update from Chief Executive Matthew Trainer: 17 June 2022
The NHS Confed Expo took place this week and you may have seen from my recent Twitter post that a session we were involved in was one not to be missed!
Thangadorai Amalesh, Divisional Director, and Krishna Vemulapalli, Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics, shared learnings and discussed how the redesign of clinical pathways is improving productivity and reducing the backlog.
This innovative way of working, which was recently highlighted in the Daily Mail, is having a major impact. Our teams have done a phenomenal job in reducing the number of patients waiting more than two years for treatment and our waiting lists have gone from 218 since start of May to just 26.
I’m pleased their dedication and innovation is being recognised on a national level.
Vaccination Hub praised
Our Vaccination Hub at King George Hospital has been praised by a children’s charity, following our work to enhance the experience of young patients when they are immunised.
Starlight Children’s Foundation visited our hub and spoke to staff, parents and carers and our average rating for their experience was 9.4 out of 10.
Well done to all involved.
BHRUT Careers Festival
Working in the NHS provides endless opportunities and people are often surprised at the vast range of career paths – from therapies to clinical coding to communications. There is a place for everyone in the NHS, no matter where you are in your career.
Our Careers Festival, taking place from 27 June to 4 July, is an open invitation to our communities, students, apprentices and staff to find out about the huge range of opportunities available at our Trust.
Please spread the word and I hope some of you can join.
My latest video diary is on our website, so please have a watch.
Have a good weekend.
Best wishes.
