Over 200 people attended our nursing and midwifery recruitment event – with 50 people bagging a job on the day.

Our divisions, including Cancer and Clinical Support, Specialist Medicine and Anaesthetics, really went to town making the stalls as fun and interactive as possible.

Our Emergency Department team helped visitors cool down with mocktails and our Care of the Elderly team created a retro living room; there was also fun raffles with tickets inside balloons, kids’ activities, quizzes, guess the historical medical device and the chance to try CPR on a dummy.

Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford said: “Thank you to everyone who attended our recruitment event. It was fantastic that so many people came along and were able to appoint 50 new nurses and midwives for our Trust.

“Its success is testament to the hard work of our staff. All our teams put real thought into their stalls, making them as fun and interactive as possible. I look forward to welcoming our new nurses and midwives to our hospitals.”

The event was held on Saturday 17 June at Queen’s Hospital.
