Two of our consultants have been recognised for their commitment to helping junior colleagues in their training and development.
Aman Bhargava, consultant laparoscopic surgeon, was awarded the Outstanding Clinician Achievement award by the Essex Medical Society, after being nominated by a colleague.
He and his wife Neelu enjoyed a night at the House of Commons where he was presented with his award by the Rt Hon Stephen Metcalf MP.
Aman said: “It was amazing to go to the House of Commons and see the Palace of Westminster. I was really proud to receive the award, I’m passionate about training and that’s one of the things I was recognised for.”
Orthopaedic consultant Krishna Vemulapalli was a winner in the first Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education awards, run by UCL Partners.
He was highly commended in the Clinical Supervisor of the Year category.
Krishna was recognised because he prioritized and supported trainee development at the Trust and he received a £250 education and training bursary.
