250 more parking spaces at Queen’s Hospital from today

We’ve been working hard to resolve the immediate congestion issues along Rom Valley Way caused when we lost use of the ice rink car park last May, and help patients driving to our hospitals for their appointments.

We’re happy to let you know that through ongoing negotiations with the new owners, we have signed a lease for our staff to use the ice rink until the end of the year.

This means that patients and visitors can now use the second floor of the multi-story car park as well as the ground and first, providing an extra 250 spaces. The top floor will remain for staff use only. In the interim the barriers will be lifted on the second floor to enable access whilst we undertake the work to get them moved to the top floor. We will provide relevant signage to inform our patients and visitors that the top floor is for staff only.

We will continue to work closely with our staff and partners to review longer term solutions and will keep you updated.
