Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine which focuses on our digestive system. The various services within Gastroenterology provide a range of diagnostic procedures and treatments through inpatient and outpatient services.

  • Telephone clinic where we review patients’ records and results and discuss a management plan
  • Hepatology - non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcohol related liver disease, primary biliary cholangitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis, liver cirrhosis

As well as providing comprehensive GI (gastrointestinal) care, we are also:

  • a regional cancer centre for the diagnosis and treatment of upper GI malignancies and colorectal cancer
  • a JAG accredited training centre

Limited car parking at Barking Community Hospital

Our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital (BCH) is being delivered to the site. Because of this, there will be limited car parking from Monday 16 October to Saturday 21 October.
