Matthew Hopkins was appointed as Chief Executive in April 2014. Prior to joining BHRUT, Matthew was Chief Executive of Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust for three years. He has also worked at a number of other London teaching hospitals including Guy’s and St Thomas’, Imperial, and Barts and The London. Starting his NHS career as a nurse, Matthew trained at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge before spending five years as a Macmillan nurse.
Medical Director's blog
Dr Nadeem Moghal joined BHRUT as Medical Director in January 2015.
Nadeem was previously the Director of Strategy and Knowledge Management, and Associate Medical Director, at George Eliot Hospital in the West Midlands. He built a team that transformed and delivered a unique, high quality service model for children and families. He also led one of the transformation teams that collectively brought the organisation out of special measures.
Director of Communications and Marketing's blog
Before working as a director in the NHS, Rachel held a number of positions at HM Revenue and Customs. She previously worked in a range of roles at the Cabinet Office, the Department of Health and the London Ambulance Service.
Rachel is a member of the Chartered Institute of PR and the Chartered Institute of Internal Communications. She also has a Master's degree in Public Communication.
Deborah Tarrant, Director of People and Organisational Development
Deborah joined us in May 2014 having previously worked at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where she was Director of Workforce and Corporate Affairs.
Prior to that, she spent four and a half years at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, as Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development.
Deborah is President of the Healthcare People Management Association.
