Support during your visit

How we can help

There are lots of different ways we can support you during your visit to our hospitals:

  • If you’d like to discuss your care, treatment or hospital discharge, you can talk to the nurse or doctor in charge of your care
  • Alternatively, you can contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS)
  • Our Chaplaincy and pastoral care team offer a safe environment and a friendly ear to those who want to talk about elements of their spirituality or religion, anxieties and other feelings that can come up during a stay in hospital
  • If you do not use English as your first language, let us know as soon as possible so we can help with translation support
  • Macmillan cancer information and support services at Queen’s Hospital provides a drop-in service for anyone affected by cancer
  • Our learning disabilities nurses regularly visit our wards. They can offer you advice and support during your hospital stay
  • If you are unable to get to the hospital due to poor health or mobility reasons, you may be eligible to use patient transport
