Improving the quality and safety of care for patients, opening a new breast care centre and becoming less reliant on temporary staff were just some of the highlights mentioned at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Our staff, visitors and patients also heard how a complete turnaround of Maternity services at Queen’s Hospital had seen 96 per cent of women say they would recommend our services, and how we are one of just 37 per cent to offer face-to-face palliative care seven days a week.

The AGM, held on Thursday (28 July) saw the launch of our Annual Report.

A new recruitment video, to help encourage more people to work for us, also got its debut at the meeting, which was held at King George Hospital.

Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive, said: “I was absolutely delighted to see so many people attend our AGM. We had a lot of good things to share so it was the perfect opportunity for us to reflect on everything we have achieved so far, as well look towards what we want to do in the next year.”

A market-stall area was held before the meeting for people to browse stalls where our teams showcased their key highlights from 2015/16, and shared information on their development plans for the next year.
