Whether you have recently been diagnosed or have been living with the condition for years, we are here to help you live with diabetes.

What types of treatments are available?

We have dedicated diabetes and endocrine wards on each site with daily consultant ward rounds. In addition there are general medical, diabetes and endocrine specialist clinics across both sites as follows:

  • metabolic syndrome (hyperlipidemia, hypertension, obesity and PCOS)
  • diabetes foot problems
  • thyroid and parathyroid disorders
  • pituitary and adrenal disorders

We also have dedicated supervised diabetes nurse-led clinics at Queen’s and King George hospitals.

We also run joint clinics with other specialists for:

  • foot
  • antenatal
  • transitional clinic for adolescents and young people with diabetes
  • insulin pump clinic in Porters Avenue
  • close collaboration with other consultants in different specialties and Accident and Emergency
  • a joint endocrine clinic with dedicated consultant surgeons
  • a thyroid / parathyroid adrenal disorder clinic across sites
  • a joint pituitary clinic held with the neurosurgeons at Queen’s Hospital
